“Wow we loved our visit to the Village Rest”

A little gem! Wow we loved our visit to the Village Rest and I couldn’t wait to leave a review. Lots of places to eat in the area so I’m glad we chose this one, which we did because of the variety of choices on the menu, especially for veggies. The atmosphere is great, lovely for any time of day. The staff are attentive, happy and helpful. Food was very tasty and the restaurant caters well for kids too. Try the veggie haggis and Camembert. Also the vegan burger was delicious!

Our varied and well balanced menu changes regularly and is in season and the food always fresh. We aspire to serve delicious homemade dishes with locally sourced produce. Our atmosphere is relaxed with an eclectic interior. The Village Rest is casual enough for lunch or tea, and yet formal enough for special occasions.

“There aren’t many places where you are made to feel so welcome”

Friendly, welcoming staff and excellent food. We visited this place on 9th April as a family of four and had our evening meal there. From the outside this looks like a small cottage but on stepping inside you realise it’s much bigger than you would imagine. From the moment we stepped inside we were welcomed and shown to our table. Service was excellent, menus, drinks order, food order and food all taken/arrived promptly and always with a smile. Food was excellent and generous portions. This is a gem of a place and so glad we found it. There are tables outside too for nice days. Nice selection of cakes too if you just fancied coffee and a cake. There aren’t many places where you are made to feel so welcome.

Your host’s are owner’s Tracy and Kevin McVey, a local family who works and lives here in Luss. Filling a much needed gap between the casualness of a café and the formality of a restaurant, The Village Rest Café - Bistro is keen to show that good food and a great dining experience need not cost the earth! We keep it fun casual and relaxed.

Great atmosphere! Charming place! Friendly staff! Great food! Second time visiting the terrific village of Luss, and again we enjoyed a meal and a drink here at The Village Rest. First time was not a fluke! Still great food and very nice people serving us. Nice way to end an enjoyable day in Luss :).
